Frequently Asked Questions
If you are storing PREempt Ready To Use solution or diluted PREempt Concentrate in a new secondary container such as a spray bottle, printed workplace/secondary product labels are available to allow you to record important product information and the expiration date of the solution. The labels help you and your staff identify the solution in the bottle to ensure you meet workplace health and safety standards. These secondary labels can be downloaded and printed on our website here or ordered through your distributor of PREempt Disinfectants.
When using the larger 3.78 L Ready To Use size to refill spray bottles, ensure any secondary containers are emptied, rinsed and dried prior to refilling with new solution to make certain it’s effective every time. Remember also to place on a workplace/secondary label and write the expiration date on any new bottles, for easy identification.

The streaking you may observe, particularly on surfaces such as clear plastics or glass, is caused by the commonly used, safe detergents in PREempt Disinfectants. The active ingredient in PREempt is hydrogen peroxide. Once PREempt dries on a surface, the hydrogen peroxide evaporates into oxygen and water, leaving no active ingredient behind on the surface. What is left behind and possibly leaving streaks are the detergents, similar to household dish soap. If desired, periodically wipe the surface with a damp, clean cloth after the contact time is met. This will help remove any remaining detergents on certain surfaces and equipment.
PREempt is compatible with a wide range of commonly used materials, including stainless steel, laminate, porcelain, ceramics, high & low density plastics, resins and silicon rubber, among others. PREempt is ideal for use on a variety of hard, non-porous surfaces, including:
